NIC Chairwoman, Suha Dawood Najar, met on Monday 13. Dec.21 wit H. E Ambassador of India Republic to Baghdad, Mr. Brashant Besay.

During the meeting the two discussed a number of issues of the common interests and the means of developing the mutual relations between the two countries in investment and economic fields; they also discussed the possibility of raising the size of Indian investments in Iraq and benefiting from the available investment opportunities in the various fields.

Najjar: The National Investment Commission has embarked the establishment of this promising project, based on plans to solve the housing issue.

Najjar: Our goal is to create a modern city that keeps pace with development in the region and the world and a model for other cities in Iraq and the region.

During the meeting, it was decided to launch investment opportunities for the Rafael project during the next few days, after the completion of the first and second phases of the engineering survey of the city’s lands.

Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission, Mrs. Suha Daoud Najjar, chaired the meeting of the Special Committee for the Rafael City Project.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of launching investment opportunities in the city of Rafael, and measures taken to ensure implementation according to international standards.

Najjar confirmed that the National Investment Commission has embarked on the establishment of this promising project, based on its plans to provide solutions to the housing problem, aiming at establishing a modern city that keeps pace with the development in the region and the world, and makes it a model for cities in Iraq and the region.

NIC Chairwoman indicated that the committees from NIC and other ministries, authorities and departments are working day and night in order to overcome obstacles to start executive work and offer transparent investment opportunities.

During the meeting, it was decided to launch investment opportunities for Rafael project during the next few days, after completing both of the first and second phases of the engineering survey to the lands of the Rafael residential city project.

Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission, Mrs. Suha Daoud Najjar, participated in the World Manufacturing forum, held in the Italian city of Cernobbio / Como, at an official invitation of the World Manufacturing Foundation and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

She confirmed in her speech that Iraq, despite all difficulties, is proceeding with steady and sound steps towards recovery and approaching the future with an open mind targeting successful experiences and partnerships that boosts development in all sectors specially the manufacturing one.

Najjar indicated that Iraq owns non-oil economic resources which can be invested in various industries. Also, the Chairwoman of National Investment Commission invited all official bodies, companies and investors specialized in the industrial sector to consider expanding cooperation with Iraq.

Najjar called on specialized companies to visit Iraq, stressing the readiness of the commission, the Iraqi state institutions and concerned ministries to provide all facilities required for the job, and to build partnerships with the Iraqi public and private sector for the reconstruction of its various sectors, as well as its interest in cooperation to gain access to modern and advanced knowledge and mechanisms in managing and supporting projects, developing skills, empowering workers, creating the appropriate environment for job opportunities, developing national production and improving services quality.

At the end of the forum, Iraq was invited to join the countries participating in the forum; In order to expand cooperation with these countries in the industrial and investment field. Her Excellency Mrs. Safia Al-Suhail, Ambassador of Iraq to Italy, participated in the forum’s works.

It is worth mentioning that the United Nations Industrial Development Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations, headquartered in Vienna – Austria. The main objective of the organization is to promote and accelerate industrial development in the developing countries and countries with economies in transition, and to enhance international industrial cooperation.

The Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission, Suha Daoud Najjar, received Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Jordanian Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mr. Yahya Al-Kasabi and his accompanying delegation.

A meeting was held between the two parties to discuss how to enhance joint economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and for Jordanian companies to get involved the current investment process in Iraq.

During the meeting, which was brought together by the visiting delegation, Chairwoman of the commission stressed the commission’s keenness to increase cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of investment by granting Jordanian investment companies all the facilities and guarantees mentioned in the Investment Law No. 13 of 2006 and its amendments, indicating that there are many economic sectors in Iraq full of investment opportunities that can be exploited by the Jordan to achieve mutual interests, especially when the Jordanian party is in contact and familiar with the Iraqi economic statues and has great investment experiences in various investment sectors in Iraq, the most important of which is the renewable energy sector.

Jordanian Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Al-Kasabi expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality with which the visiting delegation was received since their arrival to Baghdad, describing this behavior as expected from this ancient country, stressing that Iraq is a fertile land for investment and that Jordanian companies have a serious desire in entering the promising Iraqi market, especially in the field of housing, where the Kingdom of Jordan is good at in terms of planning and implementation.

Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission Suha Daoud Najjar from Nineveh Governorate confirms:

 🛑 Cabinet decisions yesterday send a message reassuring investors wishing to enter the Mosul market and aim to encourage investment in the governorate

 

The Commission will work with the Higher Committee for Reconstructing Mosul and in cooperation with the relevant ministries and government institutions to complete these decisions within the prescribed period.

 

 

🛑 Nineveh Governorate enjoys attractive potentials for investment.

Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission, Suha Daoud Najjar, said that the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers in its regular session held yesterday, Monday in Nineveh Governorate, headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, send a message of reassurance to investors wishing to enter the Mosul market and aim to encourage investment in the province.

Najjar, who attended the meeting of the Higher Committee for the Reconstruction of the Governorate yesterday in the city of Mosul, chaired by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stated, “NIC will work with the committee and in cooperation with the relevant ministries and government institutions to complete these decisions within the prescribed period.

She called for uniting all efforts for the reconstruction of Nineveh Governorate, which enjoys attraction elements for investment, foremost of which is its geographical location, its historical dimension, and its natural and human resources.

Chairman of the Nineveh Investment Commission Medhat Al-Ani confirmed that holding the Cabinet session in Mosul and the visit of NIC Chairwoman to the province will push the wheel of investment in the city and encourage capital to participate in the investment process, referring to the Cabinet’s decision to allocate the remaining plot  from Ghazlani camp to the municipality of  Mosul, (after transferring the ownership of an area of ​​(3000) dunums of it to the Ministry of Defense to establish a large residential, recreational, and commercial investment project that will be submitted as investment opportunities in accordance with the amended Investment Law No. (13 of 2006).

During her visit to a number of investment projects in Nineveh Governorate, Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission Suha Najjar: We are studying compensating investors affected by the ISIS era in Mosul

Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), Suha Daoud Najjar, confirmed that NIC is studying compensating investors who are still continuing their investment projects despite suspension for four years due to ISIS terrorist gangs’ era and the liberation operations with additional advantages.

She indicated that the study includes submitting a proposal to the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance to extend customs and tax exemption period for those projects guaranteed by the investment law for projects with investment license, where the extension period will be determined according to the status of each project and the duration of its suspension.

During a press conference held while visiting a number of projects in Nineveh Governorate, NIC Chairwoman expressed her happiness with the growing investment movement in the governorate in the various economic sectors, as well as the seriousness of investors to move forward to implement their investment projects that contribute to solving part of the unemployment crisis in the governorate and restore its distinguished position as a cornerstone of the Iraqi economy. She pointed out that the government is saving no effort to increase investment opportunities in Mosul in various sectors.

During her visit to the governorate, on Tuesday, August 17, NIC Chairwoman inspected a number of important investment projects in the city, listening to the investors’ comments and suggestions regarding the development of these projects, including the project of Mosul Iron and Steel Company, which costs 20 million dollars and has a design production capacity of 260 tons/ day of standard rebar, In addition to the residential city of Ain Al-Iraq, to build (4000) housing units, at a cost of more than two hundred and eighty-nine billion Dinars. She concluded her visit with a meeting with Mr. Najm Abdullah Al-Jubouri, Governor of Nineveh, during which she discussed the available investment opportunities and the possibilities of overcoming the obstacles facing the reality of investment in the province.

While heading the Ministerial Committee in charge.. Chairwoman of the National Investment Commission (NIC): The Rafael City Project is an urban revolution with international standards

 

Ministerial Committee in charge of preparing the lands of the Rafael City project began today, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the National Investment Commission, headed by Ms. Suha Daoud Najjar, and in the presence of the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Construction, Services and Investment, Dr. Sabah Abdul Latif, a number of Director Generals, and representatives of departments in the ministries concerned in the project.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairwoman of NIC confirmed that this project will change the direction of investment and reconstruction in Iraq, it will be an urban revolution by all modern standards of construction and designs; This requires concerted efforts of all concerned bodies with implementation.

She confirmed that the vast majority of the lands of this region belong to or are occupied by state departments and ministries, and do not represent private property to citizens. As for the very small part of citizens’ properties, they will not be touched, but will have all the benefits and services that will

be available to the city.

During the meeting, Al-Najjar presented a detailed presentation of the plans and locations of the lands covered by the engineering survey.

During the meeting, a number of technical and engineering aspects of the project’s lands were discussed by the concerned departments, and it was agreed to form a permanent technical team to overcome obstacles facing implementation by finding the necessary treatments in direct coordination with the concerned ministries and institutions.
